Troubleshooting

“403 / not permitted” when publishing
The app is missing the write_content scope. Edit the app’s Admin API scopes, add write_content, reinstall, and copy the new token.
Store URL not recognised
Use the myshopify.com domain (yourstore.myshopify.com) without https:// or a trailing slash, even if you have a custom domain.
No blog to select
Create at least one blog in Online Store → Blog posts first; Shopify needs a blog to publish articles into.

Frequently asked questions

Blog posts — to your store’s blog. It is built to grow organic search traffic that you then funnel to your products.
Which token type do I need?
An Admin API access token (shpat_…) from a custom app with the write_content scope. Storefront tokens will not work.
Will the meta description be set?
Yes — it is saved to Shopify’s SEO description metafield so it shows in search snippets.
